Business Information Exchange

Sometimes, the right information at the right time can make a significant difference in the stability and profitability of your business.

We can help you keep your ducks in a row!

Workshops and Seminars
The Business Resource Centers provide numerous workshops and seminars on State and Federal Labor Law, Employee Recruitment, Hiring and Retention, Payroll Reporting Requirements, etc. Topics of interest are identified by the businesses in attendance. A recent addition is the "Website Initiative." This free one day workshop will have your own website for your business up and running by the end of the day, with a free three month trial period to test it out. (Click on this link to check it out)

From administering the Website Design Initiative, to hosting scores of business workshops and coordinating Economic Summits, the One Stop Business and Employment Centers provide valuable information to the business communities they serve.

Community Coordinator Reports
Check out these informative, routine reports highlighting what is happening in your local community as it relates to business services. The reports are accessible from the local One Stop Business and Employment Center web sites or you can access the reports by going to the following NoRTEC website (click on the 'Reports' menu): Community Coordinator Reports

Newsletters
In addition to the Community Coordinator reports, many of the One Stop Business and Employment Centers produce a regular business newsletter, accessible on-line or through the mail.

Town Meetings
From time to time, a local area will feature a half to full day of quality presentations on topics of interest to local business. For example, this past May 2002, the Modoc Economic Summit featured County, Regional, and State experts discussing Modoc County's economic issues, trends and forecasts, small business impact, downtown revitalization and tourism goals.

One on One
Business Resource Center staff are eager to provide information and assistance with tax credits, small business loans, business plans, marketing plans, mentors, labor market information, business and labor law, personnel policies and job descriptions and much more.
