Who Are We?

The Northern Rural Training & Employment Consortium (NoRTEC) is comprised of nine rural Northern California Counties; Butte, Del Norte, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Siskiyou, Shasta, Tehama, and Trinity. We are governed by a 31 member Workforce Investment Board and a nine member Governing Board. The Workforce Investment Board represents the interests and views of local private industry, community-based organizations, public agencies, organized labor, and education. The Governing Board represents the interests and views of the County Board of Supervisors in each of the nine counties.

NoRTEC administers Federal workforce investment funds, which are contracted out to One Stop Business and Employment Centers in each of the nine counties to provide services to local businesses and job seekers.

Much of our focus as workforce professionals is on assisting local businesses maximize their potential through a wide range of ongoing business development opportunities.

Why?

At NoRTEC, we believe the only way to achieve our mission is through a stable and prosperous business community.

No cost computer workshop provided to employers at the Business Resource Center in Siskiyou County.

To this end our business enhancement services run the gamut from business start-up, to expansion, to retention. We can help with everything from developing a marketing plan, to the recruitment and training of your employees, to helping you develop your own web site.

We may not have all the answers, but we will definitely try and find them for you!
